ZURICH-HONEY from the roof
of Globus Zürich Bahnhofstrasse

Nowadays you can hear a lot of buzzing and humming on the rooftop of Zurich’s Premium department store Globus: 16 colonies of bees live here – right above Zurich’s favourite shopping street. They produce exquisite Zürihonig (Honey from Zurich) – exclusively for Globus’ ☆☆☆ delicatessa fine food department.

In summer about 40 000 busy bees from each colony take to the skies of downtown Zurich. They roam the neighbouring areas from the banks of the Sihl River to the various parks and gardens – abundant with greenery, trees, blossoms and blooming flowers.

In May and June beekeepers Peter Schneider and Ronny Ochsenbein harvest their «Frühjahrsblüte» (Spring Blossom), a tasty honey full of flavour – with hints of acacia, chestnut and lime blossom. Later in the year it’s time for their rich flavoured summer honey.
